Myra has been a Potter for over 20 years, and her work is sold in Galleries, and exhibitions mainly in the South East, and is in private collections throughout the world. Over the years she has also been teaching adults as well as developing her own style in ceramics. She has enjoyed making masks influenced by the Taureg tribes in North Africa.
After taking a course in Stained Glass a few years ago she has expanded her interest in glass and to continue this development she has attended specialist courses at Central St Martins, Creative Glass. She now incorporates glass into her ceramic forms in addition to producing individual fused glass pieces.
Her great love is to make bottles combining the techniques of throwing, handbuilding and moulding to produce individual shapes.
Although teaching porcelain for many years she now concentrates on burnished vessels and specialises in Raku. She loves the combination of black smoked pots with the richness of a copper glaze and more recently fused and slumped dichroic glass additions.
